DM Radio is a community-centered spoken-word broadcasting initiative dedicated to delivering health-related news, medical discussions, and public awareness programs for the people of Wayanad and beyond. Our goal is to make reliable health information accessible, practical, and easy to understand for everyone.
Wayanad, a beautiful district in Kerala, has historically faced significant healthcare challenges. With limited medical facilities in the past, many residents — especially from tribal communities and economically disadvantaged backgrounds — had to travel long distances to access even basic treatment.
Recognizing this need, Padma Shree Dr. Azad Moopen established the first medical college in the district. The vision was to provide high-quality medical education and affordable healthcare, significantly strengthening the region’s healthcare infrastructure. The institution is among the few in India accredited by NABH, reflecting its commitment to excellence.
DM Radio supports this mission by broadcasting doctor-led discussions, expert interviews, preventive healthcare guidance, and community health updates. Through continuous spoken-word programming, the platform promotes awareness, healthy living, and informed decision-making.
