DM Radio is a community-centered radio initiative bringing together health-related news, music, and entertainment for the people of Wayanad and beyond. We aim to blend wellness education with culture and engagement, making important information more accessible and enjoyable.
Wayanad, a beautiful district in Kerala, was historically known for being one of the most underserved in terms of healthcare. With only a few inadequate medical facilities, many residents — especially from tribal communities living below the poverty line — had to travel long distances for even basic treatments.
Recognizing this challenge, Padma Shree Dr. Azad Moopen established the first medical college in the district. The goal was to offer high-quality medical education and affordable healthcare, significantly improving the region’s infrastructure. This college stands out as one of the few in India accredited by NABH.
DM Radio complements this mission by using sound waves to spread awareness, promote healthy habits, and uplift the community through curated entertainment and real-time updates.
